Yean Yean obtained a double degree in Law and Arts from Monash University, Australia in 1996 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in the High Court of Malaya in 1997. In 2004, she was also admitted as a Legal Practitioner in the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Yean Yean is a registered Trademark and Industrial Designs Agent in Malaysia. She advises clients on many aspects of intellectual property rights protection, with a primary focus on trademark, copyright and industrial designs. Her extensive pratice includes handling full clearance trademark searches, trademark/industrial design applications, prosecution, oppositions, cancellations and brand enforcement matters. Yean Yean is vastly experienced in worldwide trademark coordination and has represented many Fortune 500 companies, including a notable Japanese multinational in the retail sector.
Yean Yean is also involved in the prosecution and enforcement of geographical indications. She has assisted various trade organisations and statutory authorities including those in the agricultural and alcohol industries with the protection of their geographical indications in Malaysia.
Out of the office, Yean Yean enjoys a good sweat at the gym and is a yoga enthusiast.
