Daniel graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Bristol in 2020 and was subsequently admitted as a Barrister-at-Law, England and Wales in 2022. In 2023, he was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in the High Court of Malaya.
Daniel’s experience encompasses a broad spectrum of IP areas. He has been involved in various litigation cases concerning copyright, patent and trademark infringement claims. He has also advised on transactional matters including franchising deals and M&A disposals which entailed reviewing agreements and conducting due diligences. Daniel has also worked extensively on IP prosecution matters and has crafted trademark filing strategies and managed global IP portfolios for various clients. He has also provided regulatory advice on emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning.
Daniel’s current practice primarily focuses on contentious matters such as IP brand protection and enforcement. He devises and implements anti-counterfeiting programs and conducts administrative raid actions for numerous brands across different industries, and also assists in litigation matters. Daniel additionally advises on franchise and media and advertising compliance, as well as other regulatory matters.
Outside the office, Daniel relaxes by listening to music, his preferred method of unwinding. He is also an avid gamer and particularly enjoys multiplayer online battle arena games.
